Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil Movie Review:

Kaabil begins with Rohan Bhatnagar (Hrithik) accepting a meeting with Supriya (Yami), a game fixed by a mutual friend. They date, dancing, wearing heels since they 'sound good' (yes, for real) and everything in between and they tie the knot. Input Amit, the quintessential neighbourhood poor boy with a politician big brother (Ronit Roy) and Wasim, the mandatory sidekick. Both maintain teasing this 'andha-andhi' since it gives them a kick. Plus it takes a tragic twist.

Rohan is torn by the desire to exact revenge and the way he, a blind guy, maybe not 'kaabil' of all of this, goes on seeking revenge is that the story of Kaabil.

There are lots of hitches that the viewer needs to deal with in this ride that he or she embarks on, much like Gupta's protagonist. Kaabil is very stretched, many scenes have been forced, many others from place. The remixed Saara Zamana has absolutely no business being in the film.

If Kaabil functions, it is due to its lead actor. Hrithik Roshan is a delight to see. He overdoes a few bits, but is largely believable. Roshan requires a risk by breaking away from the standard and saying yes to some personality like this of Rohan. He is blind but he does not want your sympathy. He also knows how to control his way round, although many soapy dialogues take away the edge from Rohan.

Perhaps making it easier for the audience to clap and whistle when they're beaten about by Hrithik.

Credit where it is due, Kaabil is a comprehensive crowd-pleaser. The majority of the applause and wolf-whistles are hinting Hrithik Roshan, not the story or execution of Kaabil. The tunes hardly leave a mark in mind. Except Mon Amour, in which you get to watch Hrithik displaying his enviable dance moves.
